Annabel's Angels transferring funds to
Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity

Annabel's Angels is transferring its funds to the Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity to continue its work supporting cancer patients in the Derby and surrounding areas, and by 31 January 2024 we will formally close our charity.

It has been our absolute privilege to support over 615 families since we began, and we are so happy to have found a home for our grant programme.  Running a charity is incredibly hard and we feel the time is right to hand over the baton.

As a former fundraiser I did want to let you know.  The hospital charity manages several funds under its umbrella, and the Annabel's Angels Fund will continue as part of their operations.  Should ever you wish to, you can donate to this fund via the Derby & Burton Hospital Charity.

I would like to thank you (on behalf of everyone involved in Annabel's Angels) for your support and fundraising.  It has meant the world.

Kindest regards

Rachel

Crescendo Choir has raised £2,200 for local Derby based charity Annabel’s Angels over 2 years later than their original concert.

Originally to take place on 21 March 2020 – 2 days before our PM told people to stay at home – the local amateur community choir of 72 members had to cancel for fears about participants and audiences’ wellbeing.  Little did they know it would be more than 2 years before they would be able to perform.

The concert was finally held in the magnificent Pears Hall at Repton School on 7 May 2022.  Over 200 family and friends were entertained by a full repertoire of songs from the shows, standards and three outstanding solos, demonstrating a varied range of voices and interests.

“A thoroughly entertaining evening of memorable songs, sung memorably by a great choir.”

Rachel Hayward, Chair of the charity and a member of the choir said “Our grant scheme is funded through fundraising events and public donations which was all but wiped out by the restrictions over the last 2 years.  This funding has come just at the right moment, and we will be able to support at least 10 families.  We are so thankful to the choir for agreeing to perform and waiting those 2 long years to showcase their amazing voices”.
